Hyderabad: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Hyderabad has predicted heavy rainfall in the city and issued an Orange alert.
According to the weather department, there will be moderate to heavy rain or thundershowers in all areas of the city, including Charminar, Khairatabad, Kukatpally, LB Nagar, Sikandarabad, and Serilingampally. There is also a possibility of occasional intense rainfall in the city.
The department has further forecasted that the rain will continue in the city until tomorrow.
IMD Hyderabad has also predicted heavy rainfall in Telangana.
Across Telangana, heavy rain, strong winds, lightning, and the possibility of a cyclone are expected today. The IMD estimates heavy rainfall in the state until September 7th.
Telangana State Development Planning Society (TSDPS) reported that the highest rainfall recorded yesterday was in Gandhari Mandal of Kamareddy, with 144.5 mm of rain. In Hyderabad, the highest rainfall was recorded in Sheikpet with 119 mm.
Monsoon Season Update In the current monsoon season, Telangana has received an average cumulative rainfall of 691.3 mm, while the normal rainfall is 597.7 mm. In the case of Hyderabad, the average cumulative rainfall is 493 mm, whereas the normal rainfall is 479.7 mm.
TSDPS has also predicted rainfall in Telangana today.
Considering the forecasts from both IMD Hyderabad and TSDPS, residents of the state should plan their journeys accordingly and stay prepared.
